The Epic Instagram Scavenger Hunt Game & Printable!
I love Instagram and would choose it over Facebook any day. There’s something nice about seeing photos first and descriptions and “your status” later. What’s great about Instagram is the ability to make a game out of posting photos.
We’ve all done a scavenger hunt before, but not this way. Here is a FUN twist on an old game. Introducing THE EPIC Instagram Photo Scavenger hunt. What is that you may ask? Well it’s a scavenger hunt for photos. This is played with at least two teams (or more) but you need at least two to play.
Here’s How To Play The Epic Instagram Scavenger Hunt!
Each team gets a sheet of items to find with amount of points they get for each. The object of the game is to photograph each item or subject and post the photo to Instagram with the hashtag you selected for the group. Whichever team gets the most points wins. You could set a timer and see who gets done within that time…or you could just see who finishes the hunt first. It just depends on you!
Here’s an example of how I used this game for our youth group at church. Using a custom sheet I made a list of things you would find at our church like a hymnal or flag along with other items. There were also a list of group photos to take together with the picture taker having to also find a way to get themselves in the photo.
This leads to some hilarious photo attempts. After each photo was taken they had to post the photo to Instagram and use the hashtag @unboundteens so I could see the photos come up in the feed. To see the feed for the hashtag you just search the hashtag your using during the game to see the progress.
The best part about this game is that their photos will be seen by their friends that don’t attend the youth group. Many of their friends will like the photos and pass it on. It’s a positive and fun way to promote your group.
Need A Blank Sheet? I Got You Covered!
I know not everyone runs a youth group so I made a version with items you could find anywhere and a BLANK sheet so you can write your own items and set your own points and use your own hashtags. These game sheets are formatted to fit two to a page and the file comes in PDF as well as JPEG if you need it.
This game is so much fun and can be used for a teen or adult birthday party. The options are limitless. You could even use it for a baby shower and make the items baby themed. Or even during a wedding reception to keep guests occupied while you take photos. Seriously endless guys!
